Official Course Overview
Advanced Placement European History provides a study of political,
diplomatic, social, economic, and cultural history from the Renaissance
to 1991. The demands of the class are equivalent to those made by
an introductory college course. Emphasis is on the development of
analytical thinking, reading, and writing skills. However, students
will build a strong foundation of factual knowledge as well, for
the intelligent exercise of analytical skills is impossible without
the support of factual knowledge. Like other courses that are part
of the College Board Advanced Placement program, this class will
prepare students for the national AP exam. To find out more about
the APEH program visit the College
Board web page.
All St. Paul's students
enrolled in AP classes are required to take the National AP Exam
for that subject.
Second semester grades will be an average of third and fourth quarter
and no St. Paul's exam will be given for the course.
